Early eighteenth century gateway and railings of unknown provenance, but of very good quality, the iron work had been altered to suit its present location in a less than sympathetic way.
Everything was removed from site for repair, enabling the rebuilding of the dwarf wall with new copings. All components were chemically stripped, revealing some very delicate work within what had been amorphous blobs of paint. All replica components were made in puddled and charcoal wrought iron.
