The brief was to provide a set of new wrought iron gates to an existing and ancient stone archway at Trinity Hospital Alms Houses. The gates were to be of modern design but traditionally manufactured and to represent the "Tree of Life".

The work was left as forged, much of the surface having a fullered texture to suggest the bark of the tree.
Finish was in oil based paint.
