Chris Topp & Co, as practical metalworkers and specialists in traditional techniques, can offer a consultancy service in both historic and modern spheres. Services include:

• Condition & impact damage survey reports
• Design specification, including traditional construction detailing, from old images for the authentic replacement of salvaged ironwork
• New and period style designs

Our team comprises of engineers, craftsmen and artistic designers so that we are equipped to help with structural and aesthetic matters relevant to both old and contemporary projects.

CPD: Professionals often have to comply with regulations regarding Continuing Professional Development, as a part of their career enhancement and Chris Topp & Co are able to offer CPD lectures on a variety of metalworking subjects to architects and surveyors, usually in their own offices.

LECTURES

Chris Topp & Co regularly give lectures on ironwork, materials and techniques to college courses, post graduate students, conservation officers and architects. From the history of the use of iron in building, through the manufacture and processing of ancient irons, to the best materials and techniques for use in contemporary ironwork designs, we can offer an informed opinion, illustrated with relevant images. We can deal with issues concerning technical advice in the use of metals, materials and techniques regarding both historic and modern work and advice on specification for tender procedure, in order to procure metalwork of quality.
