Many properties and homes, particularly in regard to historic buildings, require the fixing of new handrails. Whilst commonly installed in an ‘institutional’ or ‘elderly’ style, Chris Topp & Co offers a new approach by providing individual designs made to enhance their setting.

As part of our commitment to detailing we have developed a technique for the cost effective production of bespoke moulding sections in our own rolling mill. As our tooling is simple we can offer even relatively small runs of handrail, and indeed other mouldings at reasonable prices. The materials which lend themselves to this treatment are mild steel, stainless steel, wrought iron and bronze.

Handrails may be free standing, supported by uprights, or wall fixed and whilst governed by building regulations are distinguished from balustrades by the fact they do not guard a drop.
