Made in the early eighteenth century, the gates and railings are contemporary with the castle and courtyard by Vanbrugh, and listed Grade 1.
The ironwork was removed from site to facilitate to facilitate repairs to the dwarf wall, and restored in our workshops using replacement parts forged from puddled and charcoal wrought iron. The ironwork was prepared and painted in the workshop prior to re-fixing on site.
